If i have a web site and it's server uses another web site behind the scene in getting the results, how can I detect when the other web site is down and not responding? (I'm using the java servlets on the server side)
Usually when you goto a web site directly and if it's not responding, the browser itself will time out and post a dialog message or a error html page. I could add my own timer on the client side and post a dialog message but adding another timer is not a good solution. So i'm wondering how do i may be add a "listener" to listen to the web site that i'm using or if there are other solutions.
Thanks.
